Comments: sometimes, the act of drawing a character I had only represented in text so far helps me with improving the text itself. I realized while drawing these icons that I wanted Valerie to be a lesbian, but the fact that she is a lesbian never came up. by introducing that fact in a later draft, I was able to take a plot point that didn't feel true to Tyler's mental state at that moment and make it make sense rather than having him regress a little or completely changing narrative.
