Michael Pride

Comments: so the webcomic Michael originally existed in was set in the mid-70s, meaning the term demisexual didn't exist yet and there wasn't a pride flag for it. he described the experience as only being able to "like people like that" once they were already friends and generally thought people who approached romantic relationships in any other way were stupid. I never explicitely stated that he was bisexual either, but he described himself as not gay or straight, which is how bisexuals described their orientation at a time when being called gay was just as much of a form of a erasure as being called straight was. I once got halfway through explaining this to a former friend who instantly said "so like internalized homophobia?" and I wanted to fuckin clock them. I don't get why so many younger queers don't just not care about our history, but actively get hostile about it.
