Notes: Kay is one of my favorite characters. they originally only existed in one scene from Tyler's story, because I found it annoying that there aren't many casually nonbinary characters out there--they have to be explicitely explained to the audience, possibly because they're from a species that has no human gender by default. even human nonbinary characters in media with good representation often have their gender explicitely explained to the audience.

sometimes, a nonbinary person is just a friendly stranger that helps you when you're in an unfamiliar place that you never see again. they are also not all white and AFAB :P
